About the Episode:
In today’s episode, we’re talking to best-selling author and Georgetown professor, Cal Newport, the man behind the wildly popular books, So Good They Can’t Ignore You, Deep Work, and his brand new title, Digital Minimalism: Choosing a Focused Life in a Noisy World.
Originally from Houston, Texas, at the age of 7, Cal’s dad got a job in New Jersey, so the family picked up and moved to the east coast – where he spent the remainder of his childhood, becoming a self-described computer nerd. Cal spent many years learning how to write code, tinker with computer hardware and eventually went on to study computer science at Dartmouth & than get his PhD. from MIT.
It was in school that Cal started seriously writing and beginning to publish his work both on his blog and in his first books about developing study habits and becoming a better student. Soon, he’d start working on his first best-seller, So Good They Can’t Ignore You.
